Shirley Biagi has been Professor of Journalism at California State University, Sacramento since 1975. She has been Chair of the Department of Journalism since 1987. In addition, she is the author of seven books, including Newstalk I: State-of-the-Art Conversations with Today's Print Journalists, and Newstalk II: State-of-the-Art Conversations with Today's Broadcast Journalists, and Interviews That Work.
She has received numerous honors and awards, including being named in 1983 and 1984 by the Poynter Institute of Media Studies and the American Society of Newspaper Editors as one of ten outstanding college journalism professors in America.
